While some fashion insiders considered Jean Paul Gaultier’s decision to use Amy Winehouse as the inspiration behind his Couture Show in Paris last week as a great honour, there’s one person who isn’t happy about it to say the least and that’s Amy Winehouse’s father. Mitch Winehouse has expressed to the media that Jean Paul Gaultier’s decisions were “in bad taste”.

He affirms, “To see her image lifted wholesale to sell clothes was a wrench we were not expecting or consulted on, We’re proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste. It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best,” he finished by adding, “and glamorises some of the more upsetting times in her life. That’s upsetting for her family.

Also, E! Fashion Police correspondent and friend of the late Amy Winehouse, Kelly Osbourne tweeted her dismay about the show, “Although @JPGaultier was paying homage to my dear friend & icon to the world i found it to be lucratively selfish and distasteful! They had 3 men singing rehab & models walking in death vials, its barely been 6 months since her passing!

What do you think Fashion Dolls? The timing is off… Let’s just say a good idea in theory, certainly not in practice. Someone on the PR team should have at least contacted the Winehouse family for a little guidance and clarity. Poor effort!
