Daring, bold and oh-so, alluring. Fashion Angels, once you lay your eyes on the likes of Holly Fulton, you will instantly fall in love with her stunning designs. Her signature look is described as having “lots of geometric pattern lavished onto simply cut garments”. Originating from Edinburgh in Scotland, Holly graduated from the Royal College of Art. After working on womenswear and accessories for Lanvin, she developed a dedication to creating her own pieces.
Her flair for design proved promising as she was awarded the Swarvoski Emerging Talent for Accessories at the British Fashion Awards in 2009. A year later, she scooped the Young Designer of the Year award at the Scottish Fashion Awards. She has even gained celebrity approval from names such as Alexa Chung and Jaime Winstone.
Her collections always contain a bright infusion of striking graphic prints, luxurious materials and killer accessories. For this autumn/winter, she pays tribute to the power of love, the magic of seduction and showcases a mix of such fierce, edgy pieces intertwined with elegance. I love her use of the lip print design, perfect use of 70’s style, especially on the silk, flared trousers. She brings back retro chic with ease, adding her own twist of daring pattern.
For inspiration, she turns to her love for art deco, geometry, Bauhaus styles and cubist fashion for her pieces. Stating that her designs are for “anyone who knows what they like and likes what I do”, she is perfect for any woman who wants to emphasise her wild, daring side. I cannot wait to see what else she brings to the catwalk. Wanna know more? Visit her website here. Definitely, the one to watch!
