Hey Fashion Angels, some RV readers have been asking me to do a personal style post so I thought to do one on spring trends. I picked this Little Pink Dress for a recent night out with Valentino’s Spring collection in mind and combined another popular accessory this season – Turquoise shoes! It only seemed right to pair an orange clutch for the perfect colour-blocking effect.

If you aren’t familiar with the colour-blocking trend, it is when you pair clashing colours in one outfit. Two, three or even four is the norm. A style tip for you: pairing too many colours could end up looking like a wardrobe mash-up. Personally I think the more confident you are with this style, the more colours you’ll probably want to wear at once.

One of my fashion resolutions for 2011 was to be more daring, colour-blocking was definitely the first step in my new quest. If you’re up for some fun but you’re still not too keen on colour-blocking, wear striking shoes. This really helps your look to stand out! It’s almost impossible for me to wear high-end without a high-street piece in the mixer.

This Little Pink Dress is from Zara accessorised with Christian Louboutin shoes, a cuff and clutch both from Miu Miu. I think It’s fair to say a New Year, a New Me…
